West Lafayette, Ind. -- The Indiana baseball team was looking to continue their torrid hitting on Saturday, but, due to rain, were cancelled until Sunday.
However, the inclement weather continued as thunderstorms and heavy rain pounded West Lafayette throughout the morning and into the afternoon. The Hoosiers and Boilers were hoping the weather in Bloomington might be better, but to no avail.
IU and Purdue were cancelled and according to Big Ten rules they cannot be made up. Indiana took game one, 15-5, but rain took the final three games.
The Hoosiers have now lost a total of six games in the conference season to weather bringing their 32- game schedule down to only 26.
Indiana (30-15, 11-11) sits tied for fourth in the Big Ten as of Sunday afternoon and looks to get back on the diamond next weekend when IU travels to Evanston, Ill. for the final four-game series of the Big Ten regular season against Northwestern.
