Indiana to Host NCAA Baseball Regional, May 31-June 3

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - For the first time in school history, the Indiana University baseball program will host an NCAA Regional. The Hoosiers were selected by the NCAA office as one of 16 teams worthy of hosting the national championship tournament's opening week.
Bart Kaufman Field will welcome in three additional NCAA Tournament teams for a four-team, double-elimination competition. The victor qualifies for one of eight Super Regionals and takes one step closer to the College World Series in Omaha. Regional play begins on Friday, May 31 and runs through Monday, May 3 if necessary. All NCAA Regional action is being broadcast by the ESPN family of networks.
Indiana, owner of a 43-14 season record, is coming off a clean sweep of conference crowns, winning both the Big Ten Regular Season and Tournament titles. It will mark the Hoosiers' third trip to the NCAAs, also qualifying in 1996 and 2009.
The entire 64-team field, including teams coming to the Bloomington Regional, is announced during the NCAA Selection Show Monday (May 27) at noon ET on ESPNU
