Dickerson Tabbed a Finalist for Premier Player of College Baseball Award

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Indiana's Alex Dickerson is one of five finalists for the 2011 Premier Player of College Baseball Award, presented by Premier Players, Inc. The national award is a fan-voted recognition for the best player in the country.

Dickerson won the original vote in a landslide, but the polls have been reset once narrowed down to these five finalists. So make sure to vote again.
OFFICIAL AWARD RELEASE
Today, the candidates are placed in new polls so fans can vote for the overall winner of The Premier Player Trophy. The winners will join Ryan Mallett (quarterback, University of Arkansas), Kachine Alexander (guard, University of Iowa), and Nolan Smith (guard, Duke University) as being the first recipient of the award in their particular sport. The new polls close July 8 and the winners will be announced on July 16, 2011.
The Premier Player of College Baseball & Softball trophy is one of three major awards presented by the Premier Players Sports Foundation. Future plans have the award being presented annually in Atlanta each July during a charitable awards dinner. Other events include the Premier Player of College Football Charitable Awards Dinner, held annually in Tampa, FL, the weekend after the BCS national championship game, and the Premier Player of College Basketball Charitable Awards Dinner held annually in Charlotte, NC, each April. Proceeds from the events benefit children charities in their respective cities.
