IU Baseball Announces Hoosier Caddy Golf Classic
Sept. 25, 2007
BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The Indiana baseball team will host the inaugural edition of the Hoosier Caddy Golf Classic on Friday, Oct. 12, at the IU Gold Course. All benefits will go to the IU baseball team, and players, family, alumni and friends of the program are all invited to join in the festivities.
"This should be a fun and exciting event for friends and family of Indiana Baseball as well as for our players," head coach Tracy Smith said. "This is something that I implemented when I coached at Miami, and it was always one of the things I looked forward to most in the fall. I think everyone who takes part in the Classic will have a fantastic time."
The four-person scramble will get started with lunch and check-in at 11:30 a.m. followed by a shotgun start at 1:30 p.m. The driving range and putting green will also be available. Dinner and awards will follow the event.
The cost of the event is $99 per golfer with an IU student rate of $49. In addition to lunch and dinner, those participating will play 18 holes of golf, will receive complimentary beverages, riding cart, range balls and an adidas polo shirt. Awards and door prizes will also be presented.
Registration will run through Oct. 5, with spots filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Confirmation of registration will be delivered by mail or e-mail. For additional questions, please contact assistant coach Matt Middleton in the baseball office at 812-855-9790.
