BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Behind six stellar innings from junior newcomer Chad Martin, Team Cream toppled Team Crimson, 4-3, in the opening game of the annual Cream and Crimson series on Monday.

Under the leadership of Cream Head Coach Ben Greenspan and guest coach Keith Dayton of the Kelley School of Business, the Cream squad got a key RBI single from Alex Dickerson in the first to get out to an early lead. T.C. Knipp delivered the crucial plays in the second inning, smashing a double, stealing a base and scoring a run in the frame.

On the mound, Martin took a no-hitter into the fifth en route to the victory. The Cream bullpen then finished off the win, as Matt Carr - pitching in a game for the first time since the season finale against Purdue - closed out the win for his first save.

Blake Monar had a solid outing on the mound despite being carded with the loss for Crimson Head Coach Ty Neal and guest coach Joe Pomerening of the biology department.

The Cream and Crimson series will continue on Tuesday at 3 p.m. as the business school will look to improve to 2-0 when they go head-to-head with representatives of the department of kinesiology.
