BOCA CHICA, D.R. - The Indiana University baseball team is spending its Thanksgiving break in the Dominican Republic, and head coach Tracy Smith will be checking in daily with IUHoosiers.com. Here is the fourth entry into the Dominican Daily Diary...

    HEAD COACH Tracy Smith
"Long day. Half the team traveled to Santo Domingo to take on the Army National team. They won 12-7. Trace Knoblauch, Will Nolden, and Schwarber all swung the bats well. The real highlight of the day for the guys who made the trip was the dog sharing the infield with us when we arrived. Francisco Cordero did throw out throw first pitch as the Army Band (full uniforms) played both anthems. While the game wasn't so good, the cultural experience was outstanding.

We didn't fair much better at the Boston Red Sox complex as we dropped that game 3-0. However, Evan Bell and Scott Effross threw the ball extremely well. I guess it is a win if you simply make it to-and-from the fields each day by the way everyone drives down here!

    Day off tomorrow..."
