BOCA CHICA, D.R. - The Indiana University baseball team spent its Thanksgiving break in the Dominican Republic, and head coach Tracy Smith checked in daily with IUHoosiers.com. Here is the seventh and final entry into the Dominican Daily Diary...

    HEAD COACH Tracy Smith
Today was our last day of baseball in the island. We made a short trip to the Chicago Cubs Academy located across the road from our hotel. Once again our pitching was solid. We won both games, 4-2 and 9-7. Aaron Slegers and Brian Korte both had solid starts. Chad Clark was really good behind the plate and in the box as he picked a runner off second from his knees and hit a towering home to left.

The day was not over though. After the games we loaded up and headed for the capital, Santo Domingo, to tour Christopher Columbus' old stomping grounds and to catch a Dominican major league game between Escogito and Lucey. The guy loved seeing Hanny Ramirez play for Lucey. However, I think they probably liked the dugout dancers better...

Well, after an awesome week of baseball in the DR its time to head back in the morning. I hope you enjoyed keeping up with the Hoosiers this week!"
