Earned National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) first team All-America honors after leading his squad to 34 victories (31 straight) and a sixth-place finish in the NJCAA national tournament Stemler was sixth in the nation in scoring at 22.4 points per game and chipped in with eight rebounds and 1.8 steals, while shooting .563 from the floor and .393 from beyond the arc Stemler earned NJCAA Region 24 Most Valuable Player and first team honors, and was selected to participate in the NJCAA All-Star game where he scored 13 points in leading his team to a 109-94 victory Furthermore, Stemler earned the school's first-ever National Player of the Week honor (2/15).
Named Belleville News Democrat Player of the Year as a senior at Gibault High School averaged 23 points and eight rebounds for Coach Dennis Rueter named Class A all-state and also garnered second team all-metro status from the St. Louis Post Dispatch helped his team to a 25-3 record and a #6 state ranking also lettered in soccer where he was an all-area choice the youngest of Brian and Joan Stemler's three children was born on Dec. 24, 1984 and is majoring in sports marketing and management.
