AUBURN (2001-04)
Despite missing the first 11 games of 2003-04 with a broken foot, Monroe came back to start 14 of Auburn's last 17 games tallied a career-high 17 points in a 73-68 loss at Mississippi State on Jan. 31, and he dished out at least five assists in seven straight games from Feb. 14 through March 6 finished the year with averages of 6.1 points and 3.8 assists ranked 10th in the SEC in assists in 2002-03 (3.3 per game), highlighted by a nine assist effort at Georgia on Jan. 25, 2003 in 157 minutes of postseason play (SEC Tournament and NCAA Tournament), he had only six turnovers, including four in 113 minutes of three NCAA Tournament games had 12 points and no turnovers in 35 minutes against eventual national champion Syracuse in the NCAA East Region semifinals recorded 12 points, three assists and three turnovers in 37 minutes in the 68-62 victory over No. 8 Wake Forest in the second round of the NCAA Tournament hit all six of his free throws in the final five minutes of the triumph over the Demon Deacons closed the year by averaging 6.2 points, 2.4 points and 3.3 assists while playing in 31.3 minutes per game, second on the team started nine of 17 games as a freshman, averaging 2.7 points per game season-high performances both came against Mississippi State (11 points and eight assists).

Academy to a 29-4 record and the 2001 New England Prep School Championship spent his freshman and sophomore seasons at Madison East High School and his junior and senior seasons at Madison West High School was a high school teammate of former Wisconsin Badger Roy Boone at East and former Louisville star and current Orlando Magic guard Reece Gaines at West the son of Lewis Monroe and Veola Turner was born on Sept. 8, 1981 and is majoring in general studies.
