    JUNIOR YEAR (2004-05)

    Started and played in 28 of IU's 29 contests during the season • missed the only game of his career (91 games) when he sat out with the flu against Charlotte on Dec. 22 • led team in assists per game (3.4) • collected 13 points and a career-best eight assists with only one turnover in 43 minutes of action against Michigan State on Feb. 27 • accounted for a season-high 14 points and five assists with just one turnover in 35 minutes of action at Michigan on Feb. 20 • collected 12 points, seven boards and four assists without a turnover against Penn State on Feb. 2 • had nine points against Purdue on Jan. 15 - all of which came in the two overtimes and final 30 seconds of regulation • reached double figures in each of the first four games • had 10 points to go along with four rebounds and four assists at then-No. 7/6 Connecticut on Dec. 4 • season-best five assists against No. 11 North Carolina on Dec. 1 and Notre Dame on Dec. 8 • collected 10 points, seven boards, three steals and three assists in 32 minutes of action vs. Western Illinois on Nov. 27.

    Honorable mention All-Big Ten selection by the coaches • finished second on the team and 26th in the league in scoring (10.8 ppg) and 11th in the league in three-point field goal percentage (.367, 58-of-158) • poured in a career-high 21 points against Michigan • dished out seven assists at Northwestern • recorded a career-high four steals against Minnesota • had six assists and no turnovers against Iowa on Feb. 7 • consecutive free throws made streak snapped at 17 at Michigan State, best by a Hoosier since Bracey Wright opened his career by hitting 22 straight in 2002-03 • was a perfect 3-for-3 from the three-point line and 4-for-4 from the charity stripe at Ohio State on Jan 20, scoring 19 points • scored a team-high 14 points, including 4-of-7 from beyond the arc against Michigan Jan. 11 • poured in a career-high six three-pointers and scored 20 points off the bench against Morehead State on Dec. 23 • had five assists without a turnover at Notre Dame on Dec. 10 • scored 11 points and dished out five assists against Wake Forest on Dec. 2 • scored nine of his 11 points in the final five minutes of regulation and in overtime against Xavier on Nov. 29 • added four assists and three steals against Xavier on Nov. 21 • tallied 17 points against UNC-Greensboro, netting 12 of his 17 in the second half.

    FRESHMAN YEAR (2002-03)

    Posted his seventh double-figure scoring effort of the season with 10 points against Penn State in the first round of the Big Ten Tournament • tied his season high with six assists in win over PSU on March 13 • played a season-high 41 minutes against Iowa on March 1 while adding 12 points and five assists • scored a career-high 17 points and pulled down a career-high six rebounds against Wisconsin on Feb. 15 • tied a season high in three-pointers with three against Wisconsin on Feb. 15 • made first career start against Michigan State on Jan. 28 • his 8-of-8 performance from the charity stripe against Ohio State took place in the final five minutes of the contest • in 29 minutes of play, Strickland dished out a season-high six assists against Maryland • scored 15 points, hitting 5-of-6 from the floor in the Maui Invitational championship game win over Virginia, 12 of which came in the last nine minutes of the game.


    A first team All-Metro honoree in his final season at South Carroll High School • averaged 30.5 points, 4.3 assists and 1.9 steals • hit 52 percent from the floor and 44 percent from three-point range as his team finished with a 20-5 record • rated among the top five point guards in the nation by ESPN and • among the top 20 members of the class of 2002 by ESPN and The Sporting News • tallied 11 points and three assists at the Kentucky Derby Festival Classic • the son of Marshall and Joanna Strickland was born on March 1, 1983 and majors in biology.
