The Hoosiers were a perfect 7-for-7 at the free throw line, the second time this year that Indiana has been perfect at the charity stripe (11-for-11 vs. Illinois, 1/27/11). Victor Oladipo was 4-for-4 and Will Sheehey was 3-for-3 to account for the free throws.
The Hoosiers shot 14-of-17 (82.4 percent) from the foul line. Indiana has reached 80 percent eight times this season, in three straight ballgames and in five of its last six contests. Over the last six ballgames, Indiana is shooting 82.6 percent as a team from the free throw line.
With its 12 offensive rebounds, Indiana reached double figures for the 16th time this season. It marked the 56th time under Head Coach Tom Crean IU has reached double figures in offensive boards.
The Hoosiers held Purdue to 40 percent shooting (20-for-49) from the field, the second-lowest percentage the Boilermakers have shot at home this season (39.8 percent vs. Alabama).
Indiana recorded nine steals in the contest, the most they have recorded in a game since they had nine at Iowa on Jan. 23, 2011.
Will Sheehey led three IU players in double figures scoring, the second straight game the Hoosiers have had three players reach double digits. In addition to Sheehey's 14 points, Jordan Hulls added 13 and Verdell Jones III chipped in with 10.
It is also the first time this season that Sheehey has led the Hoosiers in scoring.
In addition to his 14 points, Sheehey also grabbed three rebounds, dished out two assists while adding a block and a steal in a career-high 24 minutes in his sixth career start.
Derek Elston led the Hoosiers with seven rebounds, the third game this year he has led the squad in boards. He also had one assist and three steals.
Jordan Hulls tacked on three rebounds and two assists to his 13 points in his 35 minutes.
Verdell Jones III had two boards, one assist, one block and one steal to go along with his 10 points. Jones now has 1,028 career points, just two shy of Butch Joyner for 40th place on the all-time scoring list at Indiana.
Tom Pritchard had six points and six boards in 32 minutes of action. It ties for the most minutes he has played this season in a game (32 at Michigan State) and the most since he played 36 in Assembly Hall against Purdue last year (2/4/10). He is averaging 6.25 rebounds over the past four games.
Jeremiah Rivers scored just two points but had three assists and three steals.
Victor Oladipo was the only bench player to find the scoring column in the game, adding eight points and six rebounds in 19 minutes.
