The Hoosiers 72-68 win at Michigan State was the first for the Hoosiers in East Lansing since 1991, snapping a 17-game skid.
The victory also puts the Hoosiers alone in first place in the Big Ten (12-2) with a one game lead on the Spartans (11-3) and Indiana swept the season series against Michigan State.
Indiana improves to 4-0 this season against teams ranked in the Top 10 of the Associated Press Poll (Minnesota, Michigan, at Ohio State, at Michigan State). The last time Indiana had four wins in one season against Top 10 teams was 1992-93 when they had six.
The Hoosiers are also 6-0 against teams ranked in the Top 25 at the time the teams met (North Carolina, Minnesota in addition to the four mentioned above).
In true road games this season, Indiana is now 6-1. The six wins is the most since the 2007-08 squad posted seven.
With a jumper in the first half, Cody Zeller became the 45th player in Indiana history to surpass 1,000 points in his career. In the second half, with a tip-in that gave the Hoosiers the lead for good with 43 seconds left, Victor Oladipo became the 46th player on that list.
With the addition of those two players to the 1,000 point club, the Hoosiers now have four active players with 1,000 career points (Watford, Hulls) for the first time in program history.
Indiana shot 43.3 percent from the floor for the game compared to 42.9 percent for Michigan State, the ninth consecutive game that the Hoosiers have shot better than their opponent.
IU connected on 8-of-18 attempts from 3-point range, making it eight consecutive games that the Hoosiers have made at least seven triples.
With 1:37 left in the game, Indiana trailed by four points (67-63) but went on to outscore the Spartans 9-1 over the remainder of the game to get the win.
Victor Oladipo led the way individually for Indiana with 19 points (7-of-11 from the field), including six in the final 43 seconds of the game. He also added nine rebounds and five steals to his line. His career point total now stands at 1,005.
Oladipo is the sixth guys in the last 15 years with 18 pts, 8 reb, 5 stl in a win against a top-5 team, and the second to do it as a member of a team ranked No. 1 (Mike Dunleavy, Jr. vs MD in '02) (Courtesey ESPN Stats)
The five steals for Oladipo give him 64 on the season, the third-most in a single-season by an IU player. Isiah Thomas holds the single-season record with 74 and Quinn Buckner is second with 65.
Cody Zeller dropped in 17 points in addition to grabbing five boards and blocking a pair of shots. His career point total now stands at 1,011. He was able to reach 1,000 points in just 63 career games.
Jordan Hulls went 4-of-6 from the 3-point line in the game for his 12 points. He also added three rebounds and three assists. He now has 1,261 career points, passing Tom VanArsdale for 29th on the career scoring list at Indiana.
Christian Watford also has 12 points, three rebounds and two assists in the game. He stands at 1,642 career points, which is good for 11th on the all-time list at Indiana.
Kevin "Yogi" Ferrell has just six points but dished out five assists and had three rebounds.
Will Sheehey tallied two points, three rebounds, one assist and a steal in the game.
Senior Derek Elston connected on his only field goal attempt - a 3-pointer in the first half - for his only points in six minutes
