Five Score In Double Figures as Indiana Defeats Indianapolis, 83-46

BLOOMINGTON, Ind.- Behind five players in double figures, Indiana closed out its exhibition season with a 83-46 victory over Indianapolis on Friday, Nov. 10.
D.J. White led all Hoosiers with 17 points. Lance Stemler, who went 4-of-7 from three-point range, had 16 points on the evening. Roderick Wilmont tallied 15 points, while A.J. Ratliff netted 13 and Errek Suhr added 10 points.
Indiana used a substantial run in each half to claim the victory. In the first half, with Indiana up 15-14 with 10:52 remaining, Errek Suhr sparked a 16-2 Hoosier run with a three-point basket from the top of the key. Earl Calloway and Wilmont each recorded steals during the drive that led to Indiana baskets.
Wilmont closed off the scoring barrage with a lay-up off a Ratliff steal at the 6:10 mark, giving the Hoosiers an 18-point lead, 34-16. Indiana held a 14-point lead at the half, 38-24.
In the second half, the Hoosiers wasted no time pulling away from the Greyhounds, holding Indianapolis to just 10 points through the first 14 minutes of the half. Indiana outscored Indianapolis 42-22 in the second half.
Indiana took advantage of the charity stripe, going 23-of-30 from the line. White scored 11 of those points. The Hoosiers picked up 11 steals on the evening, while Indianapolis turned the ball over 31 times.
Indianapolis was led by James Thompkins with 12 points, seven of which came in the final three minutes of the game. Tristan Rogers and Reed Ludlow each had four rebounds.
The Hoosiers begin the regular season on Monday, Nov. 13, when they take on Lafayette at the National Invitation Tournament (NIT) Season Tip Off at Conseco Fieldhouse in Indianapolis at 9 p.m. on ESPN2.
