Indiana Game Notes
For the second straight contest, Indiana had six players finish in double figures. Armon Bassett, D.J. White and Eric Gordon have finished in double figures in all five exhibition contests, while Jordan Crawford, Brandon McGee and Jamarcus Ellis have done so in each of the last two.
In the second half, the Hoosiers went 20-for-31 from the field, including a stretch where they hit 13 shots in a row, putting together a 34-8 run to stretch their lead to 101-53 with 5:11 left in the contest. McGee was 5-for-5 and Ellis was 4-for-4 during that span.
Indiana was 18-for-30 from three-point range and 36-for-60 overall, shooting 60 percent in each category. IU shot 60 percent from the field against North Alabama on Sunday and hit 54.5 percent from 3-point range.
After hitting just 13 shots from downtown in the Bahamas (13-for-55), the Hoosiers have made 30 in the last two games (30-for-52). In 2006-07, Indiana shot 37.9 percent from 3-point land and had a season-high 17 against Penn State (March 3, 2007) - the Assembly Hall record.
Gordon had 24 points in the game, all of them coming in the first half. Gordon was 8-for-10 from the field in the frame, including 6-for-6 from downtown.
McGee had all 18 of his points in the second half, while Ellis had all 15 of his after the break. McGee finished 7-for-9 from the field with seven rebounds, while Ellis was 6-for-8 with eight assists.
White finished with 10 points, three blocks and three rebounds. The senior went 6-for-9 from the line, his most free throws and attempts during the exhibition season.
After going 1-for-5 in the first half, Crawford went 3-for-4 after the break, and hit back-to-back shots during IU's string of 13 field goals in a row. He had six assists for Indiana, tying his high of the preseason.
Armon Bassett had 15 points in the first half, shooting 5-for-8 and 3-for-5 from 3-point range. Bassett had four steals before the break in his 16 minutes of action.
Eli Holman played the final 10 minutes for the Hoosiers, scoring eight points on 3-for-4 shooting. The freshman also grabbed a pair of offensive boards for IU.
The Hoosiers open up the 2007-08 regular season on Monday, Nov. 10, when they host Chattanooga at 7 p.m. The game will be carried live on the Big Ten Network.
