    Indiana Head Coach Tom Crean

On how hard the team played in the first 35 minutes of the game:
"If it was a 35-minute game, we very likely would have won the game, but it wasn't and they capitalized and they made some big plays. We didn't make as many. We didn't overcome some of our deficiencies today and they did at the end. As far as battling and believing you can win and being there toe-for-toe, we definitely did that, we just couldn't get over the hump at the end and again, they made some big plays."

    On the rebounding:
"There's no excuse for lack of rebounding and we've got to get better there, especially at the five spot. We can't have games where three guys playing that position don't get an offensive rebound. It's not good enough. To get three offensive rebounds out of our starting five ... we wanted to be very good in transition defense today, so that's going to take away a little bit from our offensive rebounding, but not to the extent of the way it was. It's what the game was last year, it's what the game was today. When you look at the difference in second change points - now the points off turnover difference, you know five points difference is not enough to really impact a game in a big way, 14-6 turnovers wasn't great. Certainly, the second chance points was a huge part of this game."

    On guarding Terrence Jones:
"Terrence is a good player. There's no question, but at the end of the day, he's a freshman and he doesn't like double-teams and traps, it was a big key. He ran a lot of dribble-drive tonight ... The bottom line is that their offense runs through Jones and we wanted to limit that as much as we could. Christian (Watford) did a very good job. He's a very underrated defender and I thought we had some good team defensive segments on Jones as well."

On going without a field goal for nine minutes in the second half:
"That certainly hurt us. We wanted to drive, we wanted to get to the basket, and it just wasn't going that way for us. As far as getting to the line, the way that we had game-planned for, there's not much that I would change about that and the tapes, all of those different things that we showed our guys where the angles were, they were there. They just have to be called that way as well and sometimes it just doesn't go that way."

On the fight of the team:
"We're getting better. I'm disappointed, but I'm not discouraged. Over the last two years, I've done everything in my power and in our coaches power to make sure that we never walked out discouraged. I'm not discouraged one bit and there shouldn't be one Indiana fan or supporter that is either. Disappointment is part of it, but this team is getting better. We're getting to the crux of our schedule. Certainly a game like this is a big part of that. But I like that we have a lot of fight in us and we've just got to get more of it."
