    Postgame Notes - Indiana at Michigan State

    • Indiana leads the all-time series against Michigan State, 65-48

    • The Hoosiers suffer their first loss of the season, falling to 12-1 on the year and 0-1 in Big Ten play

    • Senior guard Verdell Jones III scored 11 points to give him 1,234 points in his career, just seven points from passing Dick Van Arsdale for 28th on the career scoring list at IU

    • Junior forward Christian Watford scored a game-high 26 points to give him 1,005 in his career, becoming the 43rd player in IU history to surpass the 1,000-point mark in their career.

    • Watford also grabbed 10 rebounds in the game for his ninth career double-double and second in as many games

    • In the last two games, Watford is 8-for-14 (.571) from the 3-point line

    • Indiana trailed 34-16 with 5:11 left in the first half but proceeded to go on a 25-2 run over the next 10:11 to take a 41-36 lead with 15:00 remaining in the game.

    • Michigan State did not score its first basket in the second half until Draymond Green's jumper fell with 14:49 left in the game

    • Indiana won the battle on the offensive boards (13-8) and as a result, score 16 second chance points to 12 for MSU

    • Sophomore guard Victor Oladipo was the third Hoosier in double figures with 10 points to go with six rebounds, two blocks and two steals

    • Senior guard Matt Roth sparked the IU offense in the first half with a pair of long 3-point field goals and finished with six points in 18 minutes

    • Junior forward Derek Elston scored two points and grabbed three rebounds in his return after missing the previous game due to a broken nose.

    • Junior guard Jordan Hulls scored four points and handed out five assists

    • Freshmen forward Cody Zeller scored four points and grabbed three rebounds in his Big Ten debut

    • Senior forward Tom Pritchard had a pair of offensive rebounds and scored two points.
