ESPN College GameDay and Stripes Coming to Assembly Hall
Feb. 4, 2008
BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - On Saturday, Feb. 16, your Indiana men's basketball team will host a pair of fan-centric events surrounding its crucial Big Ten battle against conference rival Michigan State. ESPN's College GameDay is making its inaugural trip to Assembly Hall that morning, while IU Basketball will host its first-ever "Stripe Out" for the game against the Spartans.
Gates will open at 9 a.m. on the South side of Assembly Hall for students and general public to come show their Hoosier pride and participate in the College GameDay experience beginning at 11 a.m. You do not need to have a ticket to Saturday night's game to attend the live broadcast. Fans are encouraged to make or bring signs to the event.
Saturday night's contest against the Spartans, which begins at 9 p.m., will be a "Stripe Out." Alternating sections are encouraged to wear red and white to the game to provide a raucous environment for the contest, which will be carried on ESPN. The department of athletics is working in conjunction with a student-led organization on presenting the "Stripe Out."
