BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Indiana men's basketball signee Noah Vonleh became the 27th Hoosier to be named a McDonald's All-American, the committee announced on ESPNU on Thursday, Feb. 14. He is the third consecutive Indiana signee (Cody Zeller, Kevin (Yogi) Ferrell) and the fourth since 2007 (Eric Gordon) to earn the honor.
Vonleh (Haverhill, Mass./The New Hampton School), a 6-9 power forward, has already been selected to the 2013 USA Junior National Select Team and is on the Naismith Boy's High School Player of the Year Early Season Watch list, is currently ranked as the No. 8 player in the Class of 2013 by ESPNU and No. 9 by Scout.com. He has also been selected to the Jordan Brand Classic roster.
The 2013 McDonald's All-America game will take place on April 3 at the United Center in Chicago, and will air on ESPN at 9:30 p.m. ET. Vonleh will play on the East squad.
