White Named NABC All-District First Team

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Indiana men's basketball junior D.J. White has been named a National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) All-District selection. White is now eligible for the NABC All-American team.
White earned a spot on the District 10 first team along with Carl Landry (Purdue), Greg Oden (Ohio State), A.J. Graves (Butler) and Russell Carter (Notre Dame). He has six 20-point games and 19 double-figure scoring efforts this season (IU is 14-5 in those games).
In Big Ten games, the Tuscaloosa, Ala, native is showing why he was a preseason All-Big Ten selection, leading the team with 13.7 points (11th in the league), 6.7 rebounds (fifth), 1.67 blocks (third) and is shooting 51.3 percent (eighth) in 31.9 minutes. He has recorded three 20-point games, 10 games in double figures and two 10-plus rebounding outings.
Overall, White leads the Hoosiers with 13.8 points (11th), 6.9 boards (tied for fifth), 2.14 blocks (second) and 51.5-percent shooting (sixth) in 31.1 minutes.
White is also one of the 30 remaining candidates for the Naismith Award and was named Big Ten Player of the Week on Jan. 15.
