The Hoosiers will close out the regular season when they visit Illinois on Saturday afternoon. The Hoosiers are coming off a 77-67 loss at home to No. 10 Wisconsin on Thursday night. Illinois is coming off a loss at No. 6 Purdue, 75-67, Tuesday night. Earlier this season, the Hoosiers defeated the Illini, 52-49 in Bloomington. Last year, Illinois defeated the Hoosiers in Champaign, 72-70.

Indiana named Tom Crean as its 28th men's basketball coach on April 2, 2008, and is in his third year with the Hoosiers. He is 218-160 all-time as a head coach, collecting his 200th career win last year against Pitt at Madison Square Garden as part of the Jimmy V Classic. He came to Indiana from Marquette where he was 190-96 (66.4) in nine seasons and made five NCAA Tournament appearances, including the 2003 Final Four.

Bruce Weber is in his eighth season with the Fighting Illini after spending the previous five seasons at Southern Illinois. His record at Illinois is 191-84 and his overall record as a head coach is 294-138. In his 12 full seasons as a head coach, Weber has had nine 20-win seasons - including a 37-2 record in 2004-05 on the way to a national runner-up finish.

Indiana is in its 111th season of college basketball.

The Hoosiers will not have a four-year player in the program until Verdell Jones III, Tom Pritchard, Matt Roth, Daniel Moore and Kory Barnett enter their senior year.

Champaign native Verdell Jones III will play against the Illini for the first time this season. The junior is the third leading third-year scorer in the league (1,103 points) and missed the first meeting with Illinois with a knee injury. He is averaging 13.5 points in four games against Illinois. He had 18 points against Wisconsin on Saturday.

Sophomore Christian Watford is ninth in the league averaging 16.3 points and 14.5 points in Big Ten play. He is fifth in the league making 84.2 percent of his free throws. He has hit 133-of-158 free throws. He has averaged 13.5 points against Illinois in his career. He is shooting 45.0 percent from 3-point range on the road this season.

Sophomore Jordan Hulls had 18 points in the last meeting with Illinois. He is the only player to start all 30 games this season and is averaging 12.9 points in league play.

Illinois enters Saturday's Big Ten regular season finale with an 18-12 overall record and an 8-9 conference mark. Senior Demetri McCamey leads the Fighting Illini with his 14.8 points per game average. Both frontline players, Mike Davis (12.1) and Mike Tisdale (10.1) are averaging double figures in scoring in addition to 7.0 and 6.3 rebounds per game, respectively. As a team, Illinois is shooting 46.8 percent from the floor and 39.0 percent from the 3-point line while allowing opponents just 30.3 percent shooting from beyond the 3-point line.
