Honors Continue For Ferrell, This Time Receiving All-District from NABC

KANSAS CITY, MO. - The National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) announced today the NABC Division I All--District teams for 2013-14, recognizing the nation's best men's collegiate basketball student-athletes. Indiana sophomore guard Kevin Yogi Ferrell was named to the First Team All-District 7 team.
Selected and voted on by member coaches of the NABC, these student-athletes represent the finest basketball players across America. The 252 student-athletes, from 25 districts, are eligible for the NABC Coaches' Division I All-America teams.
Ferrell, an Indianapolis native, who received all-district accolades earlier from the USBWA, was named also second team All-Big Ten earlier in the week. He averaged 17.8 points per game in Big Ten play, ranking third among all conference players, and paced the league with 2.8 triples made per game. He also finished in the top 10 in assists per game (3.8, 7th), free throw percentage (81.9, 7th) and assist-turnover ratio (1.5, 10th). The 6-foot guard connected on 86 tries from downtown this season, the second-most made 3-point field goals in a single season in IU history and became the first Hoosier since Isiah Thomas (1980-81) to register 120 or more assists in each of his first two seasons donning the Cream and Crimson.
The Hoosiers open play at the Big Ten Tournament on Thursday, taking on Illinois at 12 p.m. ET on BTN.
