Gordon, West Prevail in McDonald's All-American Game

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Indiana men's basketball signee Eric Gordon, who earned a spot on The Associated Press Indiana All-State team on Wednesday, scored 13 points as his West team claimed a 114-112 victory in the McDonald's All-American Game Wednesday evening.
Selected as one of the top 24 high school seniors in the country to earn a spot in the game, Gordon also added two assists and a steal in 22 minutes. The game, which was held at Freedom Hall in Louisville, was the closest McDonald's contest since 1994.
The Indianapolis native led North Central High School to a 21-5 record and a runner-up finish in the state finals. Gordon finished the season averaging 31.6 points, 6.4 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 2.2 steals per game.
Gordon is expected to enroll at Indiana in June 2007 along with fellow signees Jamarcus Ellis, a 6-5, 200-pound guard from Chicago and Chipola (Fla.) Junior College; Eli Holman, a 6-9, 210-pound center from Richmond (Calif.) High School; Brandon McGee, a 6-7, 220-pound forward from Chicago Crane High School; and Jordan Crawford, a 6-4, 190-pound guard from Detroit and Hargrave (Va.) Military Academy.
