BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Indiana head coach Kelvin Sampson announced the dates of his basketball camps for this summer. Sampson, his staff and Indiana men's basketball players will aim to help develop the individuals game with personal coaching tips, as well as personalized evaluations of each camper.

"Our overnight camp, we expect it to be one of the best camps around," Sampson said. "The thing I love about our camps, our coaches work the camp. I run the camp. Each one of my assistant coaches is a commissioner in the camp. Our players coach in the camp and we go out and get the best high school coaches to work the camp. We want this to be a fun camp and a great learning experience for everyone attending."

The first of six camps begin on June 8-10, for the Father/Child Overnight Camp. This camp, designed for ages 9-18, will allow parents to learn basketball skills alongside their children under the direction of Sampson and his players. The cost of the three-day camp is $310 for both individuals, while additional children can be added at a cost of $150 for each additional child. A $75 deposit is also required.

A Day Camp will be held on June 11-14 at the rate of $210 per camper per session. This camp is designated for all types of players ages 6-18. The morning session, running from 9 a.m.-Noon, will focus on shooting, while the afternoon session, from 1 p.m.-4 p.m., will focus on overall game play. Campers can also enroll for both camps at the discounted price of $370.

An Individual Overnight Camp will follow from June 17-21. Campers will stay on the IU campus in university housing under the supervision of high school and college coaches. Cost of the camp, which will include meals, a t-shirt and full use of IU's athletic and basketball facilities, is $390 per camper.

Sampson will hold an Elite Camp on June 28-29. This camp is designed for grades 9-12 and player's must be recommended by their high school coach in order to attend.

Sampson will host a pair of team camps, one on June 23-24 and one on June 30-July 1. At the cost of $225 per team, campers will be split up into three divisions: Large School Varsity, Small School Varsity and Junior Varsity. Housing and meals are available at an IU dormitory at a rate of $100 per player, with one coach being accomodated per team. Additional coaches can receive housing at the rate of $85 per coach.

Overnight camps include room and board; however, linens and bedding will not be provided. Each overnight camper must bring his own sheets, pillow, blanket, towels and soap in addition to playing clothes for the camp.
