Men's Basketball Scrimmage to Follow Oct. 28 Homecoming Football Game
Oct. 20, 2006
BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Indiana Hoosier fans will have a unique football and basketball doubleheader opportunity on Saturday, Oct. 28. Approximately one hour after the conclusion of the Indiana-Michigan State football game (12 p.m. kickoff at Memorial Stadium), the IU basketball team will hold a free, open to the public scrimmage at Branch McCracken Court at Assembly Hall.
For 60 minutes following the scrimmage, Indiana players will be available on the court to sign autographs. No outside items are allowed. Only the autograph card provided will be signed.
On Oct. 17, Indiana football coach Terry Hoeppner issued the Hoosier Nation Challenge, calling for 50,000 Hoosiers At The Rock against Michigan State. Head basketball coach Kelvin Sampson is counting on IU fans to rise to the occasion.
"Coach Hoeppner, his staff and the players are doing a fantastic job, and this is a huge Homecoming game," Sampson said. "We need to get out and create a great home field advantage at The Rock."
