    Bloomington, Indiana - The Indiana men's basketball team was introduced to a crowd of 650 at the Varsity Club Tip-Off Pep Rally in the new Henke Hall of Champions, Thursday night. The event featured the introduction of the Hoosier's 16-man roster, coaching staff and support personnel.

    Emcee Don Fischer kept the evening running and introduced Vice President and Director of Athletics Fred Glass and longtime team physician Dr. Larry Rink, who offered their thoughts on the Indiana program.

    Sophomore Verdell Jones III and senior Devan Dumes thanked the fans for their consistent support.

    "We are grateful for the way the fans have continued to support us," said Dumes.

    Coach Tom Crean concluded the evening's speeches.

    "It is important that we continue to make Indiana a national program," said Crean. "Bob Knight, Lou Watson, Branch McCracken, all the great players and most importantly, you (the fans) have made Indiana the program that it is. We are working hard every day to uphold that tradition."

    The Hoosiers will hold a free public scrimmage on Saturday afternoon as part of the Haunted Hall of Hoops. The Hoosiers will sign autographs for all fans and have games and candy for kids beginning at 3 p.m. Doors to the court will open around 4 p.m. and all fans are welcome to watch the Cream and Crimson scrimmage which will be part of the open practice. A parade for kids in costume will take place at halftime of the scrimmage.

    The Hoosiers popular calendar schedule poster and recruiting guides will be on sale in the Varsity Shop in Assembly Hall.
