    Signing Class Press Conference Transcript

    BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Indiana University men's basketball coach Tom Crean has announced that five student-athletes have signed a national letter of intent to play basketball and attend Indiana University beginning in the fall of 2012.

    Joining the Hoosier program will be guard Kevin "Yogi" Ferrell, (Park Tudor) forward Jeremy Hollowell (Lawrence Central) and guard Ron Patterson (Broad Ripple) of Indianapolis along with forward Hanner Mosquera-Perea (La Lumiere School/La Porte), a native of Columbia, and center Peter Jurkin (United Faith Christian Academy/Charlotte, N.C.) from the Sudan.

    This group is rated as the No. 2 recruiting class in the country according to Rivals.com and Scout.com.

    Plays for head coach Ed Schilling at Park Tudor ... ranked No. 17 overall and No. 4 at the point guard position in his class by Rivals.com ... rated as the No. 3 point guard in his class by Scout.com ... averaged 18.7 points and 6.6 assists as a junior ... led Park Tudor to a 26-2 record as a junior and the IHSAA Class 2A State title ... scored 14 points and five rebounds to go with six assists in the championship game ... named First Team All-State by the Associated Press ... was on the Indiana Junior All-Star team ... played in the adidas Nations tournament for the USA Blue 2012 team in August 2011 with future teammate Jeremy Hollowell ... took part in the NBPA Top 100 Camp and was the MVP of the playoffs ... took Park Tudor to the championship game of the IHSAA Class 2A state playoffs and scored 20 points in the title game during his sophomore season ... averaged 23.4 points and 4.6 assists while shooting 57 percent from the 3-point line ... as a freshman at Park Tudor, he averaged 12.3 points, 5.1 assists and two steals per game ... played AAU basketball last summer for Indiana Elite.     "Peter can be a game-changer with his length defensively and he has great timing which is essential for someone who blocks shots. His offense is continuing to evolve and he can play with his back to the basket and is getting more and more comfortable stepping out on the floor to shoot the ball. His progress has been somewhat stalled due to injury, but the potential is there for him to take a big jump this year."
