Indiana closes out a two-game homestand to start the season when it hosts IUPUI, Tuesday night. The Hoosiers are coming off an 83-65 win over Northwestern (La.) State on Saturday night. The Jaguars split their two games in Ann Arbor, Michigan last week losing to Northeastern, 73-60, before defeating Michigan Tech, 65-51 at the 2K Sports Classic benefitting Coaches vs. Cancer. These two programs have only met once before on December 22, 2006 when Indiana took an 86-57 win in Conseco Fieldhouse.

Tom Crean and his staff will put one of the least experienced teams in NCAA Division I history on the floor for the 2008-09 season. Senior Kyle Taber (28 points) and sophomore walk-on Brett Finkelmeier (2 points) are all that return from last year's 25-8 squad which advanced to the NCAA Tournament. Indiana will take the floor with seven new scholarship players, an outfielder from the baseball team and three additional walk-ons to start the season with Taber and Finkelmeier during the first semester.

Indiana named Tom Crean as its 28th men's basketball coach on April 2, 2008. He came to Indiana from Marquette where he was 190-96 (66.4) in nine seasons and made five NCAA Tournament appearances, including the 2003 Final Four. He is 1-0 with Indiana and 1-0 against IUPUI having defeated the Jaguars, 76-68. Ron Hunter is in his 15th season of leading the Jaguars. He is 234-181 at IUPUI and led his squad to a 26-7 record last season.

Indiana is 180-18 (.906) against non-conference opponents in Assembly Hall. Indiana is 6-0 currently against teams from the Summit League going 3-0 against Western Illinois, 2-0 against Oral Roberts and 1-0 against IUPUI.

The Hoosiers will begin their journey to Hawaii on Wednesday evening and will take on Notre Dame in the first round of the EA Sports Maui Invitational, Monday, November 24.
