Including exhibition games, this will be the sixth game in 26 days during the month of November to start the season. The Hoosiers will also host Butler next Sunday, Nov. 27 in the Hoosier Invitational finale. The Hoosiers return 93.3 percent of their scoring with 2,078 of 2,226 points returning.
Chris Holtmann is in his second year at the helm of the Gardner-Webb program, finishing 11-21 last year.
Indiana has shot 57.1 percent from the field, 47.5 percent from 3-point range and 74.0 percent from the free throw line. The Hoosiers are second in the nation and lead the Big Ten in field goal shooting.
Indiana is averaging 23.3 points per game off of turnovers.
Freshman forward Cody Zeller is coming off a career-high 23-point effort against Savannah State. He is second in the Big Ten in steals (3.3) and field goal percentage (82.6) and sixth in rebounding (8.0) and ninth in scoring (15.0)
Junior Christian Watford is averaging 17 points in his last two games and has shot 78.6 percent from the field this week. He also has made 10-of-11 free throws. He had 19 points against Savannah State.
Senior guard Verdell Jones III is averaging 14.0 points in the last three games. He also has dished out 19 assists, with just 11 turnovers. He is fourth in the league in assists at 4.8 per game. Against Evansville, he tied his career-best by making all four of his 3-point field goal attempts against the Aces.
Sophomore guard Victor Oladipo was named Big Ten Player of the Week on November 14 and is averaging 12.8 points and shooting 61.3 percent from the field. He had a career-high 21 points against Chattanooga and matched his previous career-high with 16 points on 7-of-9 shooting against Stony Brook.
Junior Jordan Hulls is averaging 10.5 points and has made 8-of-13 long distance shots. Dating back to last year, he has made 45 straight free throws.
Sophomore Will Sheehey had a career-high 15 points against Savannah State and had 10 points against Evansville. He has led the Hoosiers in scoring off the bench in four straight games.
Junior Derek Elston has been another solid performer off the bench and he had nine points against Savannah State.
