D.J. White and Eric Gordon Earn Player of the Week Honors

Bloomington, Indiana - Senior D.J. White was named Big Ten Player of the Week and freshman Eric Gordon was named National Player of the Week by ESPN.com on Monday after the pair led IU to wins over Georgia Tech and #22 Southern Illinois.
White was honored after averaging 14 points, 13 rebounds and 3 blocked shots and Gordon averaged 26.5 points, 4 rebounds and two blocks.
White also used a 57.8 shooting percentage and his defense on SIU's top player, Randal Falker, also helped his status. Against the Yellow Jackets, White scored 18 points and pulled down 14 rebounds while adding three blocks and two steals. The Tuscaloosa, Ala., native had 10 points, 12 boards and three blocks in the road win over the Salukis.
This is the second time in his career he has received the award. White's first honor came on Jan. 22, 2007.
D.J. currently ranks 12th in the league in scoring (12.7), sixth in rebounds (8.0) fifth in field goal percentage (61.8), and seventh in blocked shots (1.43).
Gordon had 29 points against Georgia Tech and made 13 of 16 free throws in that game. He also had 22 points, three blocks and two steals against SIU.
The Indianapolis North Central product is second in the nation scoring (26.6), and leads the Big Ten in three-point field goal percentage (52.4), is second in free throw percentage (82.4%) and seventh in field goal percentage (54.5).
He was named Big Ten Player of the Week on November November 19.
