Bloomington, Ind.--After a three-game stint away from Branch McCracken Court at Assembly Hall, the 2-2 Indiana Hoosiers return home to face No. 4/5 (AP/Coaches Polls) Missouri Dec. 6 at 4 p.m. The Tigers are 2-0 after a 70-61 victory over Coppin State on Tuesday night. The Tigers opened the season with a 90-85 victory at Oakland on Nov. 29.
This is the second straight ranked opponent that Indiana faces. IU suffered a 100-67 loss at No. 18/16 Wake Forest in the ACC-Big Ten Challenge on Tuesday night. Following the Missouri game, Indiana heads to Notre Dame on Dec. 10 (ESPN, 9 p.m.). The Fighting Irish are currently ranked 20th in the ESPN/USA Today Coaches Poll.
Indiana is the only program in the nation that faces six straight 2003 NCAA Tournament teams in its 2003-04 non-league schedule. The Wake Forest contest marks the second game of that six-game stretch that also features three NCAA Sweet 16 teams (Notre Dame, Butler and Kentucky).
The Hoosiers will play their second straight game without senior center George Leach, who is out indefinitely with a left knee injury.
Each Indiana basketball game can be heard live on the IU Radio Network. WHCC (105.1 FM in Bloomington) is the flagship station for the network that has more than 50 stations broadcasting Hoosier basketball all season long. Don Fischer (play-by-play), former Indiana guard Todd Leary (color commentary) and Joe Smith (pregame, halftime and postgame host) call all of the action.
The Missouri game marks the second of three consecutive ESPN appearances for the Hoosiers. Mark Jones, former UCLA coach Steve Lavin and Tim McCormick call of the action.
