Hoosiers Prepare for Hartford Hall of Fame Showcase at Lucas Oil Stadium
Dec. 5, 2008
BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The Indiana men's basketball team made its way to Indianapolis on Friday in preparation for the Saturday's matchup against No. 5 Gonzaga at Lucas Oil Stadium at 1:30p.m., the first-ever basketball game to be played in the brand new stadium.
The Hoosiers arrived at the stadium shortly after noon and head coach Tom Crean then put the team through a practice on the stadium court before taking the team to Wheeler-Dowe Boys and Girls Club in Indianapolis for a clinic with over 100 boys and girls in attendance. Crean addressed the students and then broke the kids into groups and sent them to four different stations that were manned by different members of the men's basketball team.
This trip was extra special for one Hoosier in particular, as junior Devan Dumes grew up just a few hundred feet from this Boys and Girls Club and got his start playing basketball in the same gym.
