Bloomington, Ind. - Indiana University Sports Properties, a division of Learfield Communications, has announced that three Indianapolis area Volkwagen dealers will sponsor the Hoosiers' Dec. 20 game against No. 3 Kentucky at the RCA Dome. "The Indiana-Kentucky Rivalry Game Presented By Indianapolis Area Volkswagen Dealers" will include special pre-game and halftime promotions centered around the 12 p.m. game between IU and UK that will be televised nationally by CBS.
Thanks to the three participating dealerships - Speedway Volkswagen, Tom Wood Volkswagen and Dreyer&Reinbold Volkswagen - one lucky fan may win a Volkswagen automobile of their choice. Upon entrance to the RCA Dome, fans will receive an "oversized" postcard promotional piece that includes a number on it. The winning numbers will be chosen before the game and posted at each participating dealership after the game. When the fan redeems their card at one of the participating dealerships, they will find out if they are the lucky winner of a Volkswagen.
At halftime of the Indiana-Kentucky game, there will be a special half-court shot promotion, where one lucky fan could win a 2004 VW New Beetle if they make a halfcourt shot.
The Indiana Athletic Department certainly appreciates the support of area businesses.
"We cannot say enough thanks to those three Volkswagen dealerships for their generosity and interest in our athletic programs," IU Athletic Director Terry Clapacs said. "We have been so pleased with our partnership with IU Sports Properties and Learfield. It's great to see our partnership with Learfield help build other relationships with businesses in the area."
