    Bloomington, Ind.-Indiana improved to 6-0 on the season and 51-0 in Ameritech Indiana Classic play with 106-55 victory over Buffalo. The 51-point margin of victory was the largest in Classic history.

    Indiana had two large runs, one in the first half and one in the second. The Hoosiers opened the second half with a 19-2 run. Jeffery Newton started the run and ended it as he scored a bucket at the 19:09 mark and again at 14:52. A.J. Guyton added seven points during the run and Kirk Haston had six.

    Newton continued his hot shooting after the opening outburst as he scored six more points, for eight straight and 10 in the first 8:15 of the second half.

    Newton finished with a season-high 14 points and eight rebounds in just 17:00 of action. A.J. Guyton led the Hoosiers with 22 points in 19:00 of play as he connected on nine of 14 shots.

    The Hoosiers had similar success in the first half as they went on a 25-3 run that lasted nearly half of the opening 20:00. The Hoosiers trailed 16-14 until Lynn Washington tied the game and gave Indiana the lead with a three-point play at the 13:36 mark. Indiana jumped out to a 20-166 lead before Buffalo drilled its fifth three-pointer of the half to cut the lead to one.

    The Hoosiers responded with the game's next 19 points to open up a 39-19 advantage. At one point Guyton tallied eight straight points. Michael Lewis contributed eight points of his own during the run.

    Haston (15) and Lewis (13) also finished in double figures for the Hoosiers as all 11 of the 12 players on the roster tallied at least two points on the nt.

    The Hoosiers will be looking for their best start of thight.

    The Hoosiers will be looking for their best start of the 90's (7-0) when they compete for the Ameritech Indiana Classic crown tomorrow at 7 p.m. The game will be live on ESPN-Plus (WTTV).
