Devan Dumes Talks about Saturday's Kentucky Game
Dec. 11, 2009
Senior Devan Dumes talks about Saturday's game in Assembly Hall against the fourth-ranked Kentucky Wildcats.
Talking about the win versus Pitt:
"It was fun for us. It was good to get an experienced win under out belt, and it was really big for the program."
Talking about his individual contributions against Pitt:
"Yeah, I was just trying to help the team the whole game. I wasn't searching for my game, I was just trying to go out there and get a `W.'"
Talking about the expected atmosphere for Saturday's game against Kentucky:
"I think it's going to be the loudest (since he's been at IU) because the rivalry runs so deep. It's just built into you as an Indiana kid. As a youngster you strive to get on the Indiana All-Star team so you can beat the Kentucky kids. For me, that was a thing I didn't get to do. So when I got to play them last year, I felt like it all evened out for me."
Asked about feeding off the crowd's energy:
"We're not trying to play off the crowd, but it always helps. It always helps. If you play to feed off the crowd you never know, it could be up or down. We are just trying to focus and stay down, doing what we do. Keeps up us experienced and hopefully get the big win."
Talking about the chance to play a top-five team at home:
"It's a good opportunity. They (Kentucky) are a really good team, I don't think they have a lot of weaknesses. Their fast break is really key. They have a lot of great guards, and a lot of great talent around them as well. They also have a great coach."
