    Graduated with a bachelor of arts in criminal justice in December 2010. Council received the team's 2010 Al Barsch "Hang Tough" Award, given to the player who has hung tough and fought through adversity. He made 20 career starts and ended his Indiana tenure with 88 tackles, 70 solo, with 14 passes defended.

    2010 (Senior): Appeared in nine games and started six times ... suffered a knee injury in the Big Ten opener against No. 19 Michigan and came back early to play in the team's final five games ... closed the year with 21 tackles, 14 solo, with a half-tackle for loss and three pass breakups ... recorded four stops apiece in win over Akron and vs. Penn State ... collected three tackles each in victory at Western Kentucky, at No. 6 Wisconsin and in Old Oaken Bucket triumph at Purdue ... added the half-TFL against WKU ... recorded one PBU apiece in season-opening win over Towson, against Northwestern and vs. Penn State.

    2009 (Junior): Posted 22 tackles, 17 solo, with one-half tackle for loss and two pass breakups ... played in nine games with seven starts ... made five stops, four solo, in win over Western Michigan ... collected four solo tackles and a pass breakup vs. No. 9 Ohio State.

    2008 (Sophomore): Started seven games and played in 10 overall ... missed the final two games of the season with an ankle injury ... led the team with nine pass breakups and finished the year with 45 tackles, 39 solo ... made eight tackles, all solo, in the team's win over No. 22 (BCS) Northwestern ... collected eight stops, seven solo, and one pass breakup at Illinois ... recorded seven tackles, six solo, and broke up one pass against Wisconsin ... tallied six stops and five solo tackles with two passes broken up vs. Michigan State ... carded five tackles and a season-high three pass breakups against Central Michigan ... broke up two passes vs. Iowa ... made his collegiate debut against Western Kentucky.

    2007 (Freshman): Did not see any game action in 2007 ... named scout team player of the week following the Ball State game.

    Prep/Personal: Earned All-District 10 5A honors as a senior wide receiver and cornerback at Newman Smith High School for head coach Bobby Bounds ... caught 33 passes for 578 yards and six touchdowns as a senior, including a seven-reception, 164-yard, two-touchdown effort against Pearce High School ... on defense, he finished his senior season with 34 tackles, two for loss, three passes broken up and one blocked kick ... an academic all-district selection ... parents are Richard and Barbara Council ...
