Mark Hill Bio

• Mark Hill is entering his third season as the head strength and conditioning coach for the Indiana football program.

• Owns 13 years of coaching experience and has been a part of six bowl teams, including the 2000 national champion Oklahoma Sooners.

• In his two years at IU, 11 Hoosiers have been selected All-Big Ten, including nine in 2012 - the most for the program since 2001. Hill also worked with 2011 Indiana graduate and current Miami Dolphins offensive lineman Andrew McDonald.

• Came to Bloomington after four seasons as the head strength and conditioning director at the University of Minnesota (2007-10).

• Nineteen student-athletes earned All-Big Ten recognition during Hill's tenure at Minnesota. That total included back-to-back first team choice and current Denver Broncos wide receiver Eric Decker (2008 and 2009).

• Following the 2009 campaign, four Golden Gophers were invited to the NFL Combine - Decker, Lee Campbell, Simoni Lawrence and Nate Triplett. Additionally, Hill coached four Gophers who signed NFL contracts following the 2007 season.

• Spent 2004-06 as associate director of performance enhancement at the University of Arizona. Hill coached three freshman All-Americans and nine NFL Draft selections, including current San Diego Charger cornerback Antoine Cason.

• Cason went on to become a first-round NFL Draft pick and won the 2007 Thorpe Award as the nation's best collegiate defensive back.

• Prior to his stop at Arizona, Hill worked from 2000-03 at the University of Oklahoma as an assistant strength and conditioning director. Hill and Indiana head coach Kevin Wilson worked together in 2002 and 2003.

• While at Oklahoma, Hill helped the Sooners to four consecutive top 10 finishes, including a 13-0 record and a national championship in 2000. OU also won Big 12 titles in 2000 and 2002.

• In total, he coached 13 All-Americans, 28 NFL Draft picks (including six first-round choices) and recipients of the Butkus, Heisman, Lombardi, Nagurski, O'Brien and Thorpe awards in his four seasons at Oklahoma.

• A three-year starting wide receiver for the University of Tennessee-Chattanooga. He led the Mocs and finished second in the league in receiving en route to 1998 first team All-Southern Conference honors.

• Collected 53 receptions for 683 yards and two scores in 1998 and also returned 12 kickoffs for 279 yards. Hill finished his career with 100 catches for 1,329 yards.

• Graduated from Tennessee-Chattanooga with a degree in sport administration in 1999.

• Mark and his wife, Alesha, have one son, Markieus (9) and one daughter, Makiyah (1).
