    Graduated with a bachelor of science in kinesiology in December 2008. Shared the Al Barsch "Hang Tough" Award with Joe Kleinsmith following the 2008 season. The award is given to the player(s) who hangs tough and fights through adversity. Marando began his Hoosier career buried on the depth chart at linebacker before moving to defensive end during 2007 spring practice. He excelled the rest of his career and finished with 8.5 sacks and 12.5 tackles for loss to go along with four forced fumbles and one fumble recovery in 25 games at defensive end.

    2008 (Senior): Started nine games at defensive end and appeared in all 12 games ... led the Hoosiers and shared second in the Big Ten with three forced fumbles ... ranked fourth on the team with 3.5 sacks and 6.5 tackles for loss ... added 28 tackles, 20 solo, one fumble recovery, two pass breakups and one quarterback hurry ... made four tackles with a half-sack and a career-high 2.5 tackles for loss in the season opener vs. Western Kentucky ... forced two fumbles, recovered one, recorded a sack and posted three stops with one pass breakup ... became the first Hoosier to force two fumbles in a game since Kenny Kendal vs. Kentucky on Sept. 18, 2004 ... collected a career-high two sacks, forced a fumble, broke up a pass and netted four tackles at No. 7 (AP) Penn State ... tallied four stops at Minnesota and in the Hoosiers' win over No. 22 (BCS) Northwestern ... made three tackles with one tackle for loss against Ball State.

    2007 (Junior): Finished second on the team with five sacks and fifth with six tackles for loss ... recorded 20 tackles, 14 solo, with one forced fumble and one pass breakup and appeared in all 13 games ... made four tackles, three solo, including one for loss against Indiana State ... collected 1.5 sacks on three tackles at WMU ... posted a sack for a six-yard loss at Iowa ... made two tackles and posted a sack against Minnesota ... added one sack for a 12-yard loss against Penn State.

    2006 (Sophomore): Moved from linebacker to defensive end during spring practice ... appeared in three games, against Illinois, No. 15/13 Iowa and Michigan ... a member of the team's linebacking corps in 2006.

    2005 (Freshman): Participated in all 11 games, primarily on special teams ... had one tackle each at Iowa and against Purdue.

    2004: Redshirted the 2004 season after appearing in two games.

    Prep/Personal: A first team All-Ohio selection at linebacker/defensive end as a senior at Lakewood St. Edward High School ... also named a PrepStar All-American, first team all-district and first team All-Cleveland Plain Dealer ...
