    Graduated with a bachelor of arts in criminal justice in May 2010. Saxon received the 2009 Ted Verlihay "Mental Attitude and Loyalty" Award winner. The honor is bestowed upon the player who has demonstrated the best mental attitude and loyalty to Indiana Football. A mainstay on the offensive line since his true freshman campaign, Saxon played both guard positions and center in his career. Battling an assortment of injuries throughout his career, he still made 38 starts and played in 42 career games.

    2009 (Senior): Started all 10 games in which he appeared at right guard ... offensive line allowed just 16 sacks on the season, a total that ranked second in the Big Ten and shared 28th nationally ... the front five surrendered one sack per 27.5 pass attempts, which ranked second in the Big Ten ... Saxon allowed just one sack on the year... Hoosiers finished second in conference games only with 262.4 passing yards per game ... also ended year fourth in overall games and 35th nationally with 247.9 passing yards per game ... team rushed for over 180 yards on four occasions, including 197 yards at No. 23 Michigan and 196 yards vs. Purdue ... 197 yards were IU's second-highest rushing total in 60 all-time games vs. Michigan ... selected a captain for the Akron game ... Academic All-Big Ten selection.

    2008 (Junior): Battled injuries all season and played in 11 games with 10 starts ... opened the season with five straight starts at left guard before moving to center prior to the Iowa game ... started five of the team's final seven games at center ... three-year starter at left guard and center has started 28 of the last 31 games and appeared in 32 games in his career ... earned the team's Don Howell "Outstanding Offensive Lineman" Award ... the Hoosiers broke the 2,000-yard rushing mark (2,003) for the second straight year, the first time since 2000 and 2001 an IU team produced back-to-back 2,000-yard rushing seasons ... Indiana averaged 4.5 yards per carry and carded 19 rushing scores, its best numbers since 2001 (5.5, 33) ... the team rushed for over 250 yards four times with a season-best 297 yards in the season-opening win over Western Kentucky ... Academic All-Big Ten selection ... preseason third team All-Big Ten selection by Athlon Sports.

    2007 (Sophomore): Started all 13 games next to Rodger Saffold at left guard after starting five of the final six games there as a true freshman ... helped the Hoosiers average 157.4 yards per game on the ground and 393.8 yards of total offense, the highest averages in each category since the 2001 campaign ... the Hoosiers also set a new school record with 412 points and finished second in school history averaging 31.7 points per game ... a key component of an IU rushing attack that went over 100 yards nine times and over 200 yards five times.

    2006 (Freshman): Played the final eight games, making five starts ... earned his first career start against No. 15 Iowa ... started each of the next four games at left guard ... in Saxon's eight games, the Hoosiers posted six games with 100 yards or more on the ground and averaged 134.0 per contest.

    Prep/Personal: Offensive lineman for Jonathan Alder High School under head coach Barry Blackstone ... helped his squad to a 10-2 record his final campaign ... earned all-state, all-district and all-conference honors and a nomination to the Ohio-Pennsylvania Big 33 All-Star Game ... also picked up all-district honors while leading Alder to an 11-2 ledger and the regional final contest as a junior ... garnered all-district and All-Central Ohio recognition as a junior ... parents are Herb and Chris Saxon ...
