• Chris Shula is in his third season as a defensive graduate assistant for the Indiana football program.

• Spent the 2010 season as a graduate assistant at Ball State University.

• A three-year letterwinner at linebacker at Miami (Ohio) University from 2004-08. He totaled 144 tackles and 5.5 tackles for loss in his career.

• After graduating from Miami in December 2008 with a degree in sports studies, Shula spent the 2009-10 academic year as a graduate assistant in athletic administration at the University of Oklahoma.

• The son of Dave and Leslie Shula, his father was the head coach of the National Football League's Cincinnati Bengals from 1992-96.

• Grandfather, Don Shula, was the head coach of the NFL's Miami Dolphins from 1970-95 and is in the league's Hall of Fame.
