    • The 2007 Insight Bowl is Indiana's first bowl game since the 1993 Independence Bowl.

    • The game marked the second time the Hoosiers have appeared in a bowl game the desert. They appeared in the 1991 Copper Bowl and posted the only shutout in the bowl's history with a 24-0 win over Baylor. The Copper Bowl changed its name to the Bowl in 1997 and then the current Insight Bowl in 2002.

    • Indiana is 2-2 all-time in the state of Arizona following the loss to Oklahoma State. In addition to the win over Baylor in the 1991 Copper Bowl, the Hoosiers split a pair of meeting with Arizona, coming out victorious, 42-7, on Oct. 28, 1967. They would then fall to the Wildcats on Sept. 22, 1973, 26-10.

    • Indiana is now 6-2 in games when they score first.

    • The Hoosiers 33 points gives them 414 for the season, a new single-season record. The previous high was 396 in 1988.

Kellen Lewis set IU bowl game individual records for attempts and completions, completing 22 of 43 passes. His two touchdowns through the air also tied an IU bowl game record set by Dave Schnell in the 1988 Independence Bowl against South Carolina. The Hoosiers also set team marks, going 23-for-44 for 220 yards, including Means' completion.

    • With his two touchdown passes, Lewis tied Antwaan Randle-El's career touchdown passes record at Indiana with 42.

    • Lewis also moved into a tie for fifth in the Big Ten single-season touchdown passes list with 27 after his 4-yard touchdown pass to Marcus Thigpen with 5:35 left in the first half. He would gain sole possession of fifth with his 30-yard touchdown aerial to James Bailey with one second left in the game.

Austin Starr's 43-yard field goal with 10:41 left in the first quarter gave IU a 3-0 lead and also set the Indiana single-season record with 20 made field goals. He would connect on a 37-yard field goal with just over three minutes remaining in the game to extend his record to 21.

    • The Starr field goal marked the eighth time in 13 games that IU scored on its first drive of the game.

Justin Carrington made his first career start as a Hoosiers, opening at linebacker.

    • Thigpen's touchdown catch was his third receiving score this season and seventh of his career.

Austin Starr added the extra point, his 46th of the season, an IU single-season record and finishes the season with 48 made extra points.

Nick Polk picked up his second career interception just before halftime. His other pick came against Penn State on Oct. 20, 2007.

    • Polk's interception gave the Hoosiers a forced turnover in 26 of its last 27 games, including at least one in every game this year. It was the 19th interception on the year for Indiana, the most since 1998 when they also had 19.

    • On fourth and eight from the Oklahoma State 10-yard line, Austin Starr caught his first career pass out of a fake field goal formation and scrambled to the one-yard line to give the Hoosiers a first down. Lewis would take it in the end zone two plays later to cut the OSU lead to 35-17.

Christopher Phillips forced his third fumble of the year, and fourth of his career, in the third quarter.

    • Early in the fourth quarter, Leslie Majors forced his first career fumble and Nick Polk recovered his first career fumble.

    • Wide receiver Andrew Means completed his first career pass, a 16-yard strike to Kellen Lewis.

    • Fullback Josiah Sears' 5-yard touchdown rush with 7:02 left in the fourth quarter was his 10th career touchdown overall. He has eight rushing scores and two receiving touchdowns.

    • Kellen Lewis' 83 yards rushing are the most for him since he ran for 75 yards against Minnesota on Oct. 6. His career-high is 199 yards against Akron on Sept. 15.
