    BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Linebacker Jacarri Alexander is one of six junior college transfers currently enrolled in spring semester classes. The 6-1, 234-pounder will participate in spring practice, which begins on March 3.

    Alexander starred at linebacker and defensive end for head coach Kevin Twait at Iowa Central Community College in Fort Dodge the past two seasons. Iowa Central recognized him as the team's Defensive Player of the Year and captain in 2011.

    En route to all-conference honors, Alexander recorded 78 tackles, six sacks, 4.5 tackles for loss, three forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries. Iowa Central won the Graphic Edge Bowl.

    The two-time Academic All-Region selection made 27 tackles with three sacks and two tackles for loss in 2010 after redshirting the 2009 season.

    Alexander played linebacker for head coach Charles Graves at Auburndale High School in Winter Haven, Fla., where he earned first team all-county accolades.

    His parents are Archie and Angela Sapp. Jacarri R. Alexander was born on Sept. 1, 1989, and is a general studies student.
