BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Indiana head football coach Kevin Wilson stressed the importance of conditioning and nutrition the moment he arrived in Bloomington. Head strength and conditioning coach Mark Hill and director of performance nutrition Amy Freel oversee these areas for the Hoosiers program.

Hill is entering his third season at IU. He owns 13 years of coaching experience and has been a part of six bowl teams, including the 2000 national champion Oklahoma Sooners.

In his two years with Indiana, 11 Hoosiers have been selected All-Big Ten, including nine in 2012 - the most for the program since 2001. Hill also worked with 2011 Indiana graduate and current Miami Dolphins offensive lineman Andrew McDonald.

Freel is also beginning her third season at IU. She is responsible for developing a comprehensive nutrition program geared toward improving the training, performance and recovery of Indiana's student-athletes.

A registered dietitian and a certified specialist in sports dietetics, Freel spent 2003-10 building the same program at Virginia Tech.

IUHoosiers.com's Jeremy Gray talked to the duo about what they do and how they work together with the football program:

Spring practice will resume on Tuesday, March 19, and IU will also practice on March 21 and March 23. The spring closes with the annual Cream & Crimson Spring Game on Saturday, April 13.
