BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Wide receiver Kevin Davis enjoyed a standout career at Warren Central High School. The 5-11, 188-pounder redshirted his first season at Indiana in 2012.

Davis spoke with IUHoosiers.com's Jeremy Gray following a spring practice:

Did the redshirt season help you as a player?
"It really did. I learned a lot and picked up a lot from my coaches and teammates. I am really excited for this season."

How hard does head strength and conditioning coach Mark Hill work you guys?
"We work hard. We work really hard. I put on 20 pounds, so I am feeling really good. The entire team is feeling good."

Did you have a successful semester in the classroom?
"Yes, I am over a 3.0. Maintaining my academics is very important to me."

Has redshirting prepared you for 2013?
"The scout team got us some good work. I really appreciate the work I got in as a redshirt, and I am ready to go this year."

    Talk about the team's attitude:
"The attitude is the same as last year, but we are a step ahead. We want to win. Period."

Are you excited for spring practice?
