Johns Likes What He Sees from WRs & QBs

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Kevin Johns is in his third season at Indiana. He will serve as the assistant offensive coordinator and coach the wide receivers and quarterbacks for the second straight year.
Cody Latimer (67.1, 4.2), Shane Wynn (55.0, 5.7) and Kofi Hughes (58.1, 3.9) each ranked in the Big Ten's top 10 in receptions and yardage per game in 2012. The Hoosiers were the only conference team with a trio in the top 10 in either category.
Quarterback Cameron Coffman finished third on the school`s single-season lists in completion percentage, fourth in passing yards, completions and attempts, sixth in touchdowns and seventh in total offense. Coffman ranked second in the Big Ten in passing yards per game, completions and attempts, third in passing yards, tied for third in TDs and fourth in total offense.
Johns spoke to IUHoosiers.com following Tuesday's spring practice:
The Hoosiers led the Big Ten in passing offense (311.2), which ranked 17th nationally, and set program records for passing yardage (3,734), completions (331) and attempts (540) in 2012. Indiana improved by 111.8 passing yards per game (3rd) and threw 14 more touchdown passes (T-9th) vs. 2011.
IU will practice on Thursday and Saturday to close out the week. The spring wraps up with the annual Cream & Crimson Spring Game on Saturday, April 13.
