March 27, 2013
BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Defensive end Ryan Phillis has started the Hoosiers last 16 games. The junior carded 34 tackles with three sacks and 3.5 tackles for loss in 2012.
A two-time All-Big Ten selection, Phillis spoke with IUHoosiers.com's Jeremy Gray following Tuesday's practice:
Bobby Richardson played in all 12 games and delivered 28 tackles, 2.5 sacks, five tackles for loss and one forced fumble a season ago. The junior defensive end collected 27 tackles with three sacks, four tackles for loss, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery as a true freshman in 2011.
Richardson also talked to Gray:
Jon Fabris coaches the duo. Fabris is in his second season at Indiana. After coaching the defensive ends in 2012, Fabris will oversee the entire defensive line in 2013.
A veteran coach with 30 years of experience, Fabris has coached in 12 bowl games, including five BCS bowls. He has worked at Georgia Tech, Washington State, Iowa State, Notre Dame, Kansas State, South Carolina, the Cleveland Browns and Northwest Mississippi Community College in 2011 following an 18-month coaching hiatus after a nine-year stint at Georgia.
Gray caught up with Fabris after Tuesday's practice:
