BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The Indiana football program hosted its 2014 Pro Day on Wednesday, March 26. Take a look at highlights from the event below:
Thirty scouts representing 26 of the NFL's 32 teams attended and they did not leave disappointed. Thirteen Hoosiers worked out inside Mellencamp Pavilion, including Jacarri Alexander, Ted Bolser, Mitch Ewald, Greg Heban, Stephen Houston, Kofi Hughes, Cody Latimer, Ryan Thompson, Nick Turner, Tregg Waters, Duwyce Wilson, Lawrence Barnett and Jamonne Chester.
Latimer, who led all wide receivers with 23 reps of 225 pounds at the 2014 NFL Combine, wowed observers with a 4.38 40-yard dash and a 39-inch vertical jump. The 4.38 would have ranked third at the Combine and the jump would have tied for sixth.
Houston opened some eyes with a 4.46 40, 24 reps, a 40-inch vertical jump and an 11-foot broad jump. Among running backs at the Combine, his broad jump would have tied for second, his vertical jump would have ranked third, his reps would have tied for third and his 40 time would have tied for fifth.
Hughes bettered his former teammate, Latimer, with 24 reps. He also would have shared sixth among wideouts at the Combine with a 10-foot, six-inch broad jump. Hughes ran a 4.53 40-yard dash and netted a 35.5 in the vertical jump.
Bolser participated in the 40 (4.75 - would have ranked sixth among tight ends at Combine), bench (19 reps) and vertical (31) and broad (9.3) jumps. Heban recorded marks of 4.56, 14, 36.5 and 10.3 in the same events.
Ewald, IU's all-time leader in every meaningful kicking statistic, did not participate in any of the drills but did kick field goals and kickoffs for the scouts.
