Inge, Patton Settling in at IU

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - William Inge and James Patton are the newest additions to the Indiana football coaching staff. Inge is the team's co-defensive coordinator and linebackers coach, while Patton is the recruiting and special teams coordinator and assistant defensive line coach.
Inge was the Buffalo Bills assistant defensive line coach in 2012 after two seasons as the defensive coordinator and linebackers coach at the University of Buffalo. He has 12 years of coaching experience, including stints as the linebackers coach at the University of Cincinnati (2008-09) and San Diego State University (2006-07).
A St. Louis native, Inge lettered four years at the University of Iowa (1993-96). He returned to his alma mater in 1998 and spent three years as the Hawkeyes recruiting coordinator and graduate assistant.

Patton has 14 years of experience in the Midwest, spending seven as a player and coach at Miami (Ohio) University and seven as an assistant coach at Northwestern University. He has coached the offensive line at the University of Oklahoma since 2006.
In his career, Patton has coached in 10 bowl games and on six conference championship teams. He spent six years with IU head coach Kevin Wilson at Miami (1990-94, 98), three at Northwestern (1999-2001) and five at Oklahoma (2006-10).
