BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - With just one week to go before the Cream vs. Crimson Spring Game, the Indiana football team scrimmaged for the second time this spring on Saturday. The Hoosiers waited out this morning's showers and took the field at 1 p.m.
IU worked on clock situations as well as red zone, goal line and special teams as well.
"We rode out the weather and had a great day," head coach Kevin Wilson said. "I thought Thursday was a real strong practice and we did some good things today. Our defense has been real strong all spring, but today our offense made a few more plays and had the upper hand."
The Hoosiers return to the field on Tuesday and will also practice on Thursday before Saturday.
"Next week is the last week of spring ball, the fourth quarter of spring ball," Wilson said. "To be a good team we need to be a good fourth quarter team, so we are going to challenge our guys to have the best week we can."
The Cream vs. Crimson Spring Game will take place at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 16, at Memorial Stadium. Admission is free and the gates will open at 8:30 a.m. for the return of Pigskin & Pancakes. The game will be streamed live on www.BigTenNetwork.com and will be televised on delay at 7 p.m. on Sunday, April 17. Don Fischer (play-by-play) and Buck Suhr (analyst) will call the action.
"Next weekend is the Spring Game and the Little 500," Wilson said. "It's a big weekend with a lot of excitement. Our kids are working hard for you guys and we'd love to have you guys here to support us."
