Junior Kenny Mullen is Shelby's most experienced stalwart. He started the first five games of 2012 at cornerback and played in 11 overall at corner and nickel back. The Fort Wayne native and Bishop Luers graduate finished the year with 33 tackles, 28 solo, three tackles for loss and four pass breakups.
Mullen appeared in all 12 games at defensive back and on special teams as a true freshman in 2011. He started at nickel back against Northwestern and Purdue and closed the season with 18 tackles, 13 solo, with two sacks and one pass breakup.
Gray spoke with Mullen on Tuesday:
