Cream Earns a 21-7 Victory over Crimson at Spring Game

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The Cream jumped out to a 14-0 first quarter lead and closed out Indiana's spring with a 21-7 victory in the Cream & Crimson Spring Game on Saturday afternoon. Fifth-year senior safety Greg Heban and senior wide receiver Kofi Hughes captained the victorious Cream team.
The quarterbacks rotated and played for both teams. Coffman finished the afternoon 17-of-23 for 174 yards, while sophomore Nate Sudfeld went 14-of-16 for 181 yards and a 37-yard score to junior Cody Latimer, which accounted for the Crimson's lone score.
Latimer led the Crimson with four grabs for 62 yards and fifth-year senior tight end Ted Bolser brought in three balls for 50 yards. Fifth-year senior Duwyce Wilson contributed 50 yards for the Cream and made four receptions.
The Cream defense limited the Crimson to 187 total yards, including just 15 on the ground, and recorded five sacks and 12.5 tackles for loss. Heban, fifth-year senior linebacker Jacarri Alexander and sophomore linebacker Kyle Kennedy each had five tackles.
Alexander added 1.5 sacks and 2.5 tackles for loss. Redshirt freshman defensive tackle Ralphael Green, junior defensive tackle Jordan Heiderman and sophomore cornerback Michael Hunter added one sack apiece.
Junior linebacker Flo Hardin led the Crimson with six stops and picked off a pass, the game's only turnover. Redshirt freshman defensive lineman Shawn Heffern and senior cornerback Ryan Thompson each provided five tackles.
Wynn's first touchdown came with 8:54 remaining in the opening quarter and sophomore running back Tevin Coleman made it 14-0 with a 1-yard scamper at the 3:37 mark.
That's the way it remained until Latimer's TD with 8:58 left in the third. Wynn capped the scoring with his second score at the 4:10 mark in the same quarter.
Kevin Wilson wrapped up his third spring as Indiana head coach. The Hoosiers open the 2013 season with the first of eight home games against Indiana State on Thursday, Aug. 29.
